In observance of World Mental Health Day 2025, Vaels International School, Injambakkam organised a meaningful awareness programme based on this year’s global theme — “Access to Mental Health Services for All.” The initiative aimed to promote understanding, empathy, and the importance of emotional well-being among students.
Under the valuable guidance of our School Counsellor and Psychology Teacher, the Grade 12 Psychology students collaborated to present a thought-provoking skit that beautifully captured the essence of mental health awareness. The performance was attended by students of Grades X, XI, and XII, who were deeply engaged and inspired by the impactful message shared through the presentation.
The skit explored real-life situations faced by young minds — from managing academic pressure to coping with emotional challenges — and emphasized the importance of seeking help without fear or hesitation. Through heartfelt acting, meaningful dialogues, and creative storytelling, our students highlighted the need to break the stigma around mental health and to foster open conversations within the school community.
Following the performance, our school counsellor led an interactive discussion encouraging students to reflect on their emotional well-being and understand the importance of professional and peer support. The session served as a gentle reminder that mental health matters to everyone — and that it’s okay to ask for help.
This initiative reflected the creativity, compassion, and teamwork of our students while reinforcing the school’s mission to nurture not just academic excellence but also emotional intelligence and holistic development.
At Vaels International School, Injambakkam, we believe that mental health is as vital as physical health. Through such awareness programmes, we continue to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student feels heard, understood, and valued.
